After visiting this old girl in March earlier this year It would have been rude not to do a revisit..

On entering the site i was surprised and a bit upset at how much of the demolition has actually taken hold (upset as its sad to see the old girl go down....excuse the pun)

Visited with my intrepid friend TK421 and a new explorer in tow (Len) who has now got the bug....

I wont do a history on the place but will just let the pics do the talking....

Enjoy

BOCM Selby

My first trip since joining this excellent site. Went last Saturday 05/01/13 after passing this site loads of times on the train for years. Sadley just about all demolished. All that remains of the old victorian stuff is one shed that is well sealed. There's a few flat belt pullies laid about and a large engine driven rope winch. Everything else is in very neatly piled up rubble. Still, plenty of other places in mind, but still sad to see it all just about gone.

Went last week, got chucked off by secca, funny that they were nowhere to be seen when the pikies were stripping it.

Now you see it:

Shame to see it go, glad I captured it when I did.

A 10min drive from me and in 7 years I never got around to it. Even easier when I was in town for any reason, but no, had planned on doing it this month! Not much point now. Real shame, but looks like most of the complex is coming down bit by bit, both sides of the tracks.
