Havnt stuck up a report in ages so thought i would start with the Asbestos factory at Rochdale which is being hit a lot recently by fellow explorers and scrap men etc etc. History been done elsewhere, this is my take on the place. The site is massive and i only touched a small part of it to be honest. Hadnt been there long when i met two scrap men seemed canny enough but they started to make an awful lot of noise so i figured better get out only to be caught by one of the contractors on site who was quick to point out i was on private land and the police where on the way at this point i got out and made my way to safety just as well i left when i did. Onto some pics.

I could have spent all day in this room alone it was stuffed full of old records plans letters etc etc.

All in all a fascinating place to wander around in there is a good chance you will not be alone though whether it be scrap men or contractors making the place safe etc hope my first report in ages is up to your usual high standards.

This place sure is getting some foot fall recently! Great pics and report, did you notice the Police turn up in the end?

Will be interesting to see what actually happens with this place....

Cheers Urbex i made a quick getaway so didnt actually see the police i dont think the contractor was bluffing though i imagine the police had been called for the two scrap lads i met earlier. The Turner and Newall site up here in the north east was eventually knocked down the land totally cleared of any contamination and now a brand new housing estate has been built.

Well I had heard that by demolishing the building, it would disturb the settled asbestos that's in the woodland and could cause a mini version of Chernobyl in terms of the evacuations and abandoned buildings! Not sure how much truth is in that mind...

yes I read something along those lines too

Thankyou all. Yes there was a lot of paperwork left and the contractors on site are clearing some of the contaminated land apparently though cant be certain about that.
