Another from the back catalogue - visited with silent Hill back in May of 2010.

A couple of mills, since demolished and housing built, that were virtually next to
each other in the Hollins area of Oldham.

I never did remember which was which - one was more interesting than the other
but both made for enjoyable visit.

Views from the roof were fantastic and it was wonderfully peaceful up there - happy
memories again silent :). Could have happily stayed up there for ages.

Again shot with the Canon G10 and one of several places where it hurtled toward
the tarmac'd floor !!!

Views from and on the roof - Hartshead pike can be seen - actually the name of
the hill it's on rather than the monument - but most people call the monument
that too.

If you look very carefully on top of the bar between the two bits of building you can
just see Jodrell Bank - yep it is viewable all the way to Oldham

You had some fantastic light on them days, it really makes a difference, love the stairs shot jud beatiful square of light, fab roof top pics....tell me you did have a go on that slide:mrgreen:

yes the light was fab and I like that shot too with the square on the wall. No I tend not to do the "goofing around" stuff ....mostly I don't.

Yeah tis a shame sony. Actually we heard somethong that I found disturbing and annoying. The guys who were there to remove the asbestos claimed that Oldham council want to flatten every last mill in the town !!!!! F***ing vandals ...chavs in suits no more . If it's true of course - I do hope not.

Nooooooo!! Hope not as there are some fantastic places left! I even loved Hartford ;) It wouldn't surprise me though, as the land they sit on is probably worth more to the council for 'developments' :(

well a good example was one close to me on Hollins road - it was in superb condition ..really mint ... they demolished it and built an academy (or school as we normal people call them) on the ground where it stood ...could they not have put the school in the mill ??

Bit of history for the kids. Something a bit different.

it's Oldham's heritage for fucks sake.

yup .. part of the reason we do what we do.

It does sadden me when they get levelled .. another part of Britain's heritage gone for ever due to greed and lack of a soul from men in suits.

Ah well I guess there's a housing shortage has to be dealt with.
