    Default Factory in Oxfordshire

I'm afraid I can't tell you anything about this place, the history, or even what type of factory it was!
It was beside a quarry, so maybe connected..

I hope someone on here will be able to explain what this place actually is, anyway it's well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Shipton-on-Cherwell Cement Works, it was half demolished in the 1990s but work halted after they found rare wildlife on the site so it became an SSSI, apparently though recently it was decided to demolish the rest, doesn't look like much has been done

these must be old pictures. I was there late December 2012, and some parts in these pictures are not there anymore.

I took these pics last summer, (sorry, should have mentioned that in the post)
I'm gutted to hear it's been demolished, I was planning a re-visit... what's left of it now?
It's good to know what it was used for at last!

Looked an imposing place in its day, pity most of it has gone now.....
If there is a fence round it then it must be worth looking at !

Shame i really like the look of that place with the huge impossing concrete towers...luv the shot of the concrete reinforcing bars poking out and bits of metal stuck on them!

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
