The Manuel Works closed in 2002, at it's height in the 1970's it employed over 1200 people when it closed there were only 240. It was a large employer for the region and it's closure has affected many families especially as many generations worked there. There is still one building in use but lots of small things from when the factory was working.

Most of the buildings have been demolished, have a look on Google Earth to see how much there actually was on-site before demolition started.

There is also a castle on the site, Haining Castle, built by the Earl of Haining who owned the land on which the brickworks was built.

First post so any feedback welcome! :)

Good report all round mate, especially for a cherry, but I think your sensor needs a clean. ;)

Interesting to see this place after demolition work - cheers for the update, nice weather for a wander around. In its day Manuel was a great place to explore, the scale of the sheds was enormous and it had quite a history, too..
