Hartford Mill
(Once again visiting well visited, repeat places)

Hartford Mill was built 1907 by the Hartford Mill (Oldham)Co Ltd.

It was extended 1920 and 1924 and closed 1959 In later years it was used by Littlewoods as a mail order warehouse until 1992.

The mill’s Architect was F W Dixon, there were 120,000 spindles and power was provided by a very impressive 1500 hp Urmson & Thompson engine.

I first visited Hartford going on for a year and a half ago, my std exploring partner said he had not been before and was going to pop in, so I decided to tag along to see what had changed....nothing much to be honest.

No shots from the engine house this time as we had other places to get to and I could not be bothered with the climb over the wall to get in there.

Awesome shots there mate! Wanted to visit this place for a while but I never find myself up that end of the country!

Cheers for posting these up mate :)

Brilliant photos as usual Zero! Another of my favourite explores, especially the access if it's still the same
Glad to see it's still standing!

Cheers for the comments people.

Access was a little different to the last visit (there was a lot less blood involved this time!)

If you are local and have not been, i would say pop in, these mills are fast disappearing these days :(
