    Default Return of the king.....

I RETURN TO YOU NOW AT THE TURN OF THE TIDE.....

THE PULL OF DERELICT PLACES HAS BECOME TO MUCH. I WAS LURED OUT OF RETIRMENT BY A FRIEND WHO WANTED TO "HAVE A LOOK INSIDE"

HE'D FOUND A FEW OLD HOUSES AND WANTED ME TO JOIN HIM.

IT WAS ONROUTE THAT I SAW THIS HIDING IN THE TREES...

WELL WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE...

THIS CHEEKY LITTLE GEM WAS TONEDALE MILL..

THE FOX FAMILY STARTED IN THE WOOL TADE IN 1700'S AND AT ITS PEAK THE COMPNAY EMPLOYED APPROXIMATELY 5000 PEOPLE AND OWNED AND OPERATED NINE MILLS AND FACTORIES IN SOMERSET,DEVON,GALSHIELS AND OXFORDSHIRE.

THE TONEDALE SITE IN WELLINGTON WAS THE LARGEST INTEGRATED MILL SITE IN THE SOUTH WEST OF ENGLAND.. THE WHOLE SITE IS A MASSIVE 10 ACRES.

THIS IS THE PLACE THAT KHAKI WAS MADE... HOW COOLS THAT.

    ANYWAY ON WITH THE EXPLORE.

STARTED OF SLOW AND HAD A MOOCH AROUND THE BUILDINGS ON THE OUTSKIRTS.

THIS SITE IS MASSIVE AND DUE TO THE LITTLE MAN WALKING ABOUT THE MAIN AREA OF THE MILL WE DIDNT GET TO SEE THE MASSIVE CHIMNEY BUILDING OVER THE BACK..

THIS SITE IS WELL WORTH A SECOND LOOK AND IT CERTAINLY TOOK THE EDGE OFF MY URBEX NEEDS.

IM ALLWAYS LOOKING AT BUILDINGS AND FEEL THE BURNING NEED TO HAVE A LOOK INSIDE..

WILL THIS BE MY RETURN TO THE EXPLORING WORLD.......

    THE FIRE RISES.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
