Quote from Skinningrove Jetty Project
"Construction of the Skinningrove Jetty originally started in 1882 funded by the Skinningrove Iron Company, and took five years to complete. The strong winter storms which prevail in the North East caused repeated damage to the structure, until the company manufactured special cement by using the molten slag from the blast furnaces as an aggregate. Thirty years later the jetty was said to be as firm and strong as when it first came into service."
Photos mainly of the Pump House, on the end of the jetty. [Edit] Access Details Removed
It's just one concrete room, but still features a lot of the old ironwork.
Sorry about the poor quality photos, I only had my phone with me!
