Raf Honiley was operational 1941-1958, a base for night fighter squadrons during the war then various training and signals units until its closure.

When it was acquired by Lucas varsity it was used as an automotive test area by the likes of prodrive and TRW (Lucas Aerospace)

There's what'd left of s wind tunnel, three control rooms, and engine test bay and lots of other bits and bobs sprawled over an overgrown site.

Completely devoid of chav vandalism probably due to the remote location and captain angry bastard who cut my visit short from the shot gun range next door stalking me around the site hence a 20 minute rush job :-(

Cheers for looking, OMD EM5, 17mm 1.8 and 7.5mm 3.5.

Good stuff, it doesn't look to have changed much in the last couple of years. It was being used for Airsoft for a while.

Cheers all.... certainly nice to look back at reports of the place that are five years old and see that other than mother nature taking her toll there's been little in the way of chav or pikey action :)

Good stuff
Like others have said its ages since I saw this
