Cocking Limeworks, March 2014 (img heavy)

The limeworks has been in various forms of use as a quarry/Kilns since 1715. The site is made up of a main area of kilns and various machinery and the chalk pits located to the south linked by a roadway built in the 60s.

visited with a non-forum member and it was very bloody muddy!

I passed here a couple of months back and it looked as though the site ad been occupied by travelers. Seems they have gone

Cocking Lime Works eh? I once knew a girl called Fiona Cocking from Fulcking - not easy to say after a few sherberts!

I did wonder, for a village that looked devoid of anyone under the age of 60 the Limeworks had a recently lived/partied in feel to the place.
