spotted this a wile back.....wasnt sure what it was at first but it soon became obvious when access was gained which wasnt easy.exit was far easier,upstairs was pretty much boring with drawing table after drawing table but down stairs was a lot better with allsorts of stuff,comms rooms,fire extinguisher systems and general intersting stuff..........theres live r.r facilities buildings on this site so not really a good idea for a visit....but hey ho...was all good p.s sorry if theres to many piccs......

Great set of images of an unusual site,thanks for sharing.

I remember picking up a drive shaft in the RR factory and receiving for my pains, a truly world class bollocking. "THAT causes premature failure" said a rather irate person. "The heat and acid from your hand will significantly shorten the life of that component." I suppose when "premature failure" is 200,000 miles he has a point! Later, when I qualified as an airline pilot, like many before me I took the tour of the jet engine production - engineering so beautiful it is almost poetic. To look at a powerplant sitting on a pallet, you have no idea of the forces just one of them can generate!

I liked that, especially the pigeon pic ,it looks like the R:R mascot has just landed in the middle of em, Many Thanks

thanks for all your kind comments guys....funny thing happened which i never mentioned,when we went to leave through the fence were we originally entered we discovered someone,security?or other had re-secured the fence with one cable tie so we made good our escape and re-secured the fence with two cable ties just for a laugh........confused.com.
so be aware security or other may be monitoring this site which does have live r.r building very close by......thanks again guys....was a interesting explore...
