Back from work so I thought I would re-visit a place that you could lose a day in. Clwyd Alloys finished around 2002 and previous to this the factory site had activity dating back to the early 1900’s. The location is quite remote so I guess this would have been a nice employer for the surrounding town. Some of the recent buildings are still in good nick but the original buildings are falling to ruin. The site is quite dangerous now with holes appearing in the yard leading to the underground drains. Some of the old corrugated sheds have collapsed and vandals have certainly discovered its hidden canvasses.

Only had 2 hours but I will be going back with head torch and gear. Some areas I avoided as I could not assess integrity.

This site gives a mixture of modern and early industrial architecture. Some of the old outhouse were used to store silica so you have to be careful that you’re not putting yourself at risk both from building or legacy materials. Overall it was nice wander up with the ground crisping under foot.

Thanks for looking.

Some of does look a bit ropey so you're sensible to get kitted up before venturing back, I Liked the pic of the chimney taken from inside a building with a damaged roof, nice bit of history to go with pics, I enjoyed looking. Many Thanks
