Happened upon this whilst tunnel hunting.

This is the remains of the boiler house, the factory has long gone.

I couldn't understand what all these big metal pipes were doing next to the buzzing power station.
I thought they were some kind of conduit for electrical wiring but after some research
I found out that these are what remains of the boiler house metal chimney.
Unfortunately it blew down on one windy night & shorted out the whole town.

This is the hole left after the spiral staircase was removed.
I have found one picture on line of the factory after the insides had been removed
and it looked really interesting in a '60's futuristic Space Odyssey kind of way.
That's all gone now.
