Location
Down there somewhere
Since I overhauled our website and removed all our topside locations I've been meaning to add threads for each one here in way of atleast having them online somewhere. No idea how frequently I'll get around to adding them, here's another.

I do not apologise for the quality of the photos! Photography was not then and is not now my reason for exploring.

Buncefield Oil Depot

We visited the explosion site two days after the main explosion. The place was still very much alight and risk of further explosions was considerable (apparently). The site and its surrounds were like nothing I have ever seem before. 100% post-apocolyptic! So much so it just didn't seem real, was more like a film set than an actual location, very eerie.

Awesome pictures, and not something you're likely to see too often on this island.

Damn, was it really two years ago...

Those photos make it look like the end of the world. Chilling

Why have you taken all topside stuff off the site?

Re: Buncefield Oil Depot - 13.12.05

Blimey, the news reports at the time never gave me the impression the destruction was so severe. Excellent work getting these awesome pics.

the Pics have a great gritty feel to them, creates a cool or should i say hot apocaliptic effect

Why have you taken all topside stuff off the site?

When I overhauled the website I was looking to keep it more drains oriented and as it was going to take me an absolute age to transfer all the above ground stuff into the new page format it was just easier to decide to exclude the above ground stuff entirely. That said there's stilll a few bits and pieces of above ground stuff on the Excess page, some nice nostalgic West Park panoramas, that place was just awesome to chill and wander around.
