i have had my eye on tonedale wanting to do the mill and the dye house for a long while now, knowing that the main mill was a bit of a nightmare,it just seemed a long way for me to go to just see the dye house..then after seeing mooksters superb report on the main mill.i decided it was now time to put a plan in action,so a few weeks of planning, the time was on us to go.a stupid early start and a five hour trip there,we got there early when everyone was still sleeping, the place did not dissapoint,it did have a lot of empty rooms in there but even they were beautiful with some lovely colours in it,the highlight was certainly the boiler room though.and I totally agree with mooksters this stuff should be in a museum.

Beautifully done Mikey, you've done this place proud. I wish you had been around when the place was still full of machinery - if your images of the boiler house are anything to go by, you would have recorded some magical scenes!

Thank you dirus for your kind comment on this and the dye house thread.both sites were amazing and so much history in there.a real traditional way of working..I was trying to imagine in the main mill when I was there just what it would have been like in its working days.when it was stacked full of stuff which I imagine it was..thanks again for the words of wisdom.
