Afternoon all,
This is a site that I've been aware for a long time, but wasn't aware that it was disused. It was only when I went into the building to try and locate a toilet that it became apparent that it wasn't in use much anymore, if at all. So armed with the photographic marvel that is the iPhone 4, I took a few photos. (I hope to go back sometime soon with a camera with more flexibility).
The building itself isn't accessible at all to the public (high fences, 24 hour security guards, large orange army outside, and lots of active railway tracks). From what I can gather it was built in 1990 and was used for light maintenance and refueling of DMU's, it was stopped being used for this in around 2012/3 when a new depot was built and all the work was moved over to there, and after then it was temporarily used to maintain and refuel on track machinery (such as tampers & stone blowers).
Thanks for looking, as I say, I do intend to go back again soon with a camera, so I'll update the thread then.
