    Default Rockwood Pigments, Derbyshire

Well I've been wanting to do this for a while and it turned out to be great fun.
Bit of a rush job after using this as a Plan B since we were chased out our first location.
Ruine accompanied me on this one.
Not going to do the history bits as I'm sure you'll have heard them before,
but as you may guess they used to make dyes here, I presume using the water from the river derwent next door.
There is a mine too, though we didn't have time for that.
Basically a big aeroplane type hanger.
the first part of the site is used by Heights Of Abraham, a cable car attraction for storage.

What if I want to wash my hands now?

    Cheers for looking!
Might have another location in mind if we get the time.
Used the D3300+kit again but brought the nikon 35mm f/1.8 to test it out.

Looks like the Nikon done its job well. Nice shots here and I assume you read and familiarised yourself with the fire notice.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
