Hi chaps,
Its my first report so bare with me, its a bit photo heavy but here goes!!

Somewhere around 2000-2004 the steelworks spent roughly £90million on improving a new site across the river & between this & a plant in sheffield made something like 700 men redundant, Thus mothballing what your about to see......

From time to time my job takes me into the factories & foundrys of sheffield & rotherham, I managed to evade capture & by using my mobile phone camera, bring you this report!!!!

That looks great, I Love the noticeboard in the second to last shot which is still labeled up with the British steel logo. I would be really interested to know more about this place (maybe via PM) It's somewhere I would be extremely keen to take a look at in person.

Very interesting looking place. Enjoyed your pics and report. :D
Sorry about my ignorance, but the large cylindrical tanks...are they the furnaces? Not seen any like that before.

Cheers :)

Hi Tims & Foxylady,
From what i can gather from google maps etc the site lookes about a sq mile, so there's alot more to see, most of it live though!! Me & my fellow explorer Merlin have got more reports to put together & post. you'll have to watch for them! The furnaces you see were for coils of wire on top of eachother i think, if anyone knows anything else please let me know,

Thanks for looking etc, Rotax
