Done this one with Vertigo Rod.

This is just five minutes down the river from the Old Textile Mill that I posted last week, Ive named this one the Museum Mill because of the old sign I found just outside one of the doors, just like the other mill that we done, the minute I stepped in this Mill I just fell in love with the place, this one also had a few out buildings next to it as well with lots of old tools and stuff still hanging about

The history of this place is just about the same as the other

Once a thriving hub of industry, the textile mill now stands abandoned but still home to hundreds of colour coordinated yarns.
The looms have stood unused for decades and the mill’s machinery is rusting away,
disused since 1980, the mill has been untouched and boxes of yarn lay abandoned on the floor of the building

The amount of machinery and objects left behind is just something you don’t see every day, It’s the kind of stuff you would expect to see in a museum, it's shocking to see that the history was not being preserved, everything was just sitting there, the looms have stood unused for decades and the mill's machinery now rusts away.
I hope they save this place and do sorting with it, it would be such a shame if this place goes to waste

Thanks for looking

Brilliant - i loved this site bud - I think this is your best post to date - thanks for sharing

That's magic,I wonder why a textile mill needed an Oldhams miners lamp charging rack?

To inspect the leat tunnels and wheel pit drains probably. However, if the original electricity supply was via a water turbine - I forget if this is one of the mills that actually had its own water powered electricity system - then they were probably use for routine maintenance work on the system.

I noticed that as well and is that a carbide lamp in pic 25?,

Yes it is - from the mounting bracket I would say it is a front bike lamp. Using the electric inspection lamp alongside as a size comparison tends to confirm this, however; some of the early helmet lamps used the same type of bracket. All depends on how big the thing is really, as to intended use.
