At the moment I'm exploring alone, due to a friend working when I'm not, so ventured to this site twice now.
I need to go back for a third time for the quarry.. I took, what seemed the never ending path from the bottom to the top, only to realise I took the wrong path to the farm shop

Just a shout out to anyone down south if you want to explore, pm me.

Wiki - Cocking Lime Works and its associated chalk quarry are abandoned industrial sites in the South Downs of England. They are situated to the south of the village of Cocking, West Sussex, close to the South Downs Way. The works are on land owned by the Cowdray Estate and are not open to the public. Cocking was the source of lime used for the manufacture of Midhurst White bricks and for agricultural purposes.

I would like to say that, I have the most ridiculous fear of heights, so being up on the kilns I really had to push myself. Roof was decayed, & it was only when I looked down after the photos I proceeded to leg it back over the fence.

I have to say you have taken some beautiful pictures there - well done but i really did laugh hard when you said you explored alone then saw the dead naked women inside on door - lord only knows what was racing through your mind lol.

Stay safe out there
:)

I always wanted to have a mooch here when I lived in the area, years ago. Pretty nice site, you've captured it with some interesting angles. That mulcher/crusher looking thing looks a bit fierce!

It made me laugh seeing that, but I didn't look - maybe next time ;)

I was told there is a PIR alarm in there.. First time I was in/out within 15 minutes.. 2nd time I took a different route, I was most likely to be hit by passing cars then being caught by PIR..
Still need to go back to finish off, but I do secretly love this place.
Thank you for the comments.

That's really nice.some lovely bits there.its somewhere I have always fancied going.and that farm shop sounds good

Great pics! When I saw the title I was going to ask about the PIR sensors - have they been set up?

Really good report. You have some great shots here and well done for both going solo and facing your fear of heights!

Thanks Rubex

Brewtal, I didn't spot any - I did keep an eye out. However a fella who went a few weeks before me (on another site) triggered the alarm & a guy did come. He said to just be careful.

I think the guy is alright if he collars you though. I vaguely recall a few people telling me they were caught and the bloke was fine once he realised they weren't doing mong stuff (graffiti, arson, etc). Was a long time ago though. Maybe he's at the end of his tether these days.

If it's a silent alarm you're screwed. If it's audible just peg it :D

Good to know. Thanks for the responses. Does this guy live near by then yeah? I'm up for the 25 mile drive from where my other half lives but had too many let downs recently, so had to ask. I guess that's why having a plan A, B and C is a good idea!

Wouldnt have a scooby... I went in the front section from the road, it clearly states 'No parking' but i couldnt be arsed to walk.. so i parked there lol.
I was in there a good 15 minutes.
On the second return I parked up a bit more & walked back down into another section, I was there a while - altho i heard dogs barking quite close so didnt move for a bit.
Give a shout if you want to look, I wouldnt mind going back. Im sure theres more things I can find to photograph :)

Bloke showed up when i was there once, after explaining what we were doing he started telling us about the hunting that goes on there and showed us his pheasants he'd been out hunting that morning. Told us to be careful and went on his way haha.

Yeah he's alright, Me and VampiricSquid talked to him for a while, he's just fed up of people wrecking it and climbing about. He's liable after all.
I'm pretty close to this place and always up for a return visit, let us know if you're up for it!
