 Sorry...I fugged up. I helped out my exploring buddy bigdirk with his image links and forgot to log out

This was the last site of a great day exploring, I wasn't really sure what we would find here as the previous time we had looked the site over after a Severals visit, it had been too dark to make much out. The overall site is a mix of occupied and abandoned buildings. The abandoned ones range from locked up tight to burned out, with the majority leaning towards the latter unfortunately however there is some very nice graffiti to see. From what I can make out from the equipment left, this was some sort of chemical manufacturing site.

We did see another group of possible explorers in a car who left pretty swiftly when we arrived; I'm sure I recognised the car from a report somewhere... Hi! Sorry if we scared you off :p

If anyone does decide to visit please go with a friend, this place felt dangerous.

Thanks for looking.

Smashing shots, shame about the War Memorial so much for grade 2 listing.

Thanks! I totally agree...I had really hoped it wasn't a war memorial after seeing the state of it. With acres upon acres of space to spray paint, why deface a war memorial!?

Hi ReverendJT and all....would anyone be able to help with trying protect the memorial? It has upset local residents. The memorial was dedicated to those from the area who died in both World Wars. Respect. Even though it is not in use currently, it is hoped it can be relocated. Also it is Grade II listed and if anyone can assist with finding the culprit who tagged it, a small reward would be given. PM me, thanks.

I think it's such a shame that it has been defaced like this and I have a feeling that most here agree. I wish I knew who it was but I think it will be difficult to track down the culprit.

I feel it's important to mention that I and many others here explore with "take only photos, leave only footprints" ethos and certainly wouldn't dream of doing something like this. Explorers and taggers are 2 different groups.

If there is anything I can do I'd be happy to help.

This was the former home of Wardle Storey/British Xylonite, a celluloid manufacturer.

It's a shame it's been reduced to a total wreck, but I still find it odd how there are still operational units on the site.

I think you're right, I know genuine explorers wouldn't do this sort of thing. Its obviously someone without the sense to realise or appreciate what they are doing is wrong. I have a suspicion of who it might be, someone who lives locally I think! Thanks for the offer of help...I guess eyes and ears, plus educating others is all that we can do on this one.

I enjoy the photo's by the way
