    Default Cwm coke works.

CCW was part of the NCB's Coal Products Division until the mid 70s, until it was transferred to the NCB owned company National Smokeless Fuels Ltd.
The blending plant had a capacity of 4,500 tons in 4 bunkers and the service bunker had a capacity of 3.000 tons.
Coking time was 26 hours, producing coke, after quenching, with a moisture content of 6-8%, output was 1.530 tons per day.
The coke was passed through two 160 tons per hour hammer mills, then passed to five 50 tons domestic bunkers for loading.
By products of 700,000 cubic feet per day of gas.

Day trip out with Sureshank and a non member was cu short when we were spotted 1/3 way up the coking tower.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
