First report!

So, I visited Lordline recently, and considering how popular this building is, I am quite surprised that there aren't many reports on this place.

anyway, the history:
Lordline was built in 1949, and was a major asset towards Hull's fishing industry. The building was part of St Andrew's Dock. (The dock being named after the Paitron Saint of fisherman). The docks were not only useful for trawlermen, but also helped greatly in both world wars. work was very hard for the Trawlermen, as they worked long hours and didn't earn much for it. The working conditions were also very poor. As the fishing industry got bigger, it was moved to Albert Dock in 1975, and Lordline and surrounding buildings were officially closed.

the explore:
The place is literally trashed and full of graffiti, but its still worth a look. It has been the subject of many articles recently about teenagers throwing things from the roof which is such a shame. There was a gang of people there when I visited, but I just ignored them and carried on. I don't think it will be long till the building is gone.

I hope you all liked the images and that my first post was enjoyable.

Sounds like you made a sensible choice HughieD, luckily I wasn't on my own else I would have left it too.

Such a shame its a lovely industrial Art Deco inspired building...I wonder what its fate is???

Thanks I like this:smile:

Thank you! And it's owned by Manor property group, but they've recently been told to act now 'before someone dies' so I can see work happening pretty soon.

Great stuff, I grew up on the other side of the river in Grimsby and remember going to the fishing heriatage centre as a young lad. thanks for sharing.

It's normally because gypsys camp that site out so you can't normally get in

I found lord line last year and while not filled with screaming kids p*ssing about it's a lovely old building to walk around although I was told if you go on the roof you are watched by CCTV on near by buildings and the police are made aware, the amount of sprayed art work inside is interesting and yet still good to wander around.
