Another one from my recent trip to Surrey was this place, which I loved!
Cant believe how completely accessible this place is despite a lot of inherent dangers & enough asbestos to wipe out a small island. There were several vehicles parked in the entrance but I saw no one in 2 or 3 hr visit, I explored just about every inch with the only limitations being my aching frame.

Fullers earth was known for its absorbent properties which was mainly used as cat litter.
In 1954 the works, now employing 780 men, were bought by chemical company Laporte Industries.
Interestingly in the 70's the quarried land at Redhill was used for several alien landscapes in the Doctor Who series (sorry I didnt get any pics of that)
The quarry is now being used as landfill & the complex has stood empty since 2004.

This is a rare example of somewhere that has been given up on. Security seems to have gone a few years ago and its become a bit of a no-mans land. It's a surprise considering how dangerous it is. Between the vast amount of asbestos, fall hazards and encounters with undesirables, you would think that there would have been a a lot of accidents/incidents here by now.

Makes for a great explore though, great photos!

It's just going to fall in on itself eventually.

The landfill owners (Biffa I think) own this as well, and they wanted to expand the landfill site but were shut down by the residents living very nearby. Nobody would want to buy a house there so it can't be sold for that, and so it's just going to sit there getting rustier and more dangerous as time goes on.

It was my third ever explore on my first ever explore weekend back in June 2009, back when it wasn't half demolished, there was almost no graffiti and the production area hadn't been absolutely stripped of everything by metal fairies. I went back a few times, I think my last visit was at the end of 2011, and it still holds some appeal to me.

Beautifully photographed, some of nicest industrial dereliction images posted, personally I wouldn't go near the site now you've mentioned the asbestos problems, but I enjoyed your post, Proper Job, Thanks

I like this place, visited there myself...nice pics, different take on the place, thanks!

As for the secca not being there anymore? Awwww that's a shame, such warm and friendly types as well....this vid demonstrates that love at 1:25 in :)

Ah yes, this classic gem. He was rumoured to have got the sac over this if I recall.

Security visit everyday and hang around for an hour or two.
I have been here a lot shooting models and I have had security there at 7am on a Sunday morning and 2 in the afternoon. It is potluck but you can usually wait them out.

Self plug - a lot of these are at Fullers DerelictHeart

That's quite interesting to know. I'd heard rumours that security were back but I went the other week and could hear kids banging about there, so assumed it wasn't the case.

Had any encounters with them?

Yeah I was there from 10 in morn without a peep!

Weird that security bother to do anything here. Back when I did it between 2009 and 2011 there wasn't any security at all and the place was practically mint compared to how it stands now, but I guess its kind of like other places that are only protected or watched over after the proverbial horse has bolted...

Mr Big Bollocks with his noisy dog is back on the go. I took my friends 18yr old daughter and her boyfriend there recently. Showed them about and the sketchy bits etc. and they went back and got chased off. That said, I text Gromr123 about it and he went for a look and no secca. But then again my first time years ago Mr Duty Calls turned up on a check out routine and took one look and myself and H and the looked at the tripod in my hand and hung about until we fucked off.

It is a private security company in white vans VPS I think it is called. They do have a routine on arriving but no time schedule. I was really surprised to see them there so early on a Sunday morning.

I have been up inside when they arrived but they just drove around the outside and parked up a bit.

They do keep attempting to secure the place, hoarding and heras fencing but it doesn't last more than a day.

Fullers is a tricky one for me, I'm a (don't laugh) H&S consultant and the place is so dangerous now but it makes such great images!

Iv done a NEBOSH myself, but have been in steel erecting & supply for 25yr so in terms of the structure know whats safe & whats not.
Like everything its safe enough if u r careful, but as initially said I cant believe how easy it is for kids etc to wander in who really wouldn't have a clue!

I was literally there yesterday for the third time and it changes so much every time (for the worse) - more missing pannels
