Default Unidentified Building, Magna, Rotherham, June 2017

Have tried to find out what this place was to no avail hence no history. Was thinking of popping it in the General Pictures thread but then though there were just enough pix to merit report. The building itself is pretty secure with CCTV so didn't venture over the fence and inside. Anyhow...on with the pictures:

Does it have something to do with water treatment/plant or sorts of that ilk?
When the going gets tough - the tough get going.

I think you are on the right lines there Hugh. Think it was owned by one of the local rolling mills.

May be wrong, as there are other similar structures around, but I think this is one of the river water extraction/treatment plants for producing cooling water for the steel industry there about.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
