BX plastics which stands for British Xyonlite used to make plastic toys, including ping pong balls. The factory was built in 1939 and the company liquidated in 1999. It's a huge place, that was covered in rubble, graffiti and porn magazines.

So that's where my ping-pong balls came from.

BX was a very large trading and manufacturing concern and even prior to WW2, had set up three subsidiary companies. Your ping-pong balls were not made here, they were manufactured by Halex, which was based in Highams Park, Hale End, in North London and produced finished goods manufactured from the base plastic compounds that came out of the BX Compounding Factories.

Very nice set of images Naomi, they illustrate the life of that building very well!
