The cement works chimney was a reporting point for the nearby airfield. Really helped when getting lined up for runway 20. I think the chimney has been demolished now? I wonder what the locals use nowadays?

The Chimney is still there. To demolish that, the kilns would have to go as it cant fall anywhere else.

Nice one, Shoreham is a proper old school UE site, it's one of the last places left that people were exploring way back in 2005/ 2006 when forums were just beginning. There's a lot to see, better allow yourself a few hours if you go back. :)

Nothing beats the old Urbex stuff. Although I think there are a few old places hanging about still, Fullers Earth for an example. I do need a revisit there, missed the turbine halls, smaller kilns and the ladder up the chimney...

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
