Been meaning to pop in here since seeing mooksters post last year (thanks for the heads up) and I manage a steel stockholder & fabricators myself so it struck a particular chord!

I didnt research any history before going & as I walked around presumed that the company had folded as there is an alarming amount of paperwork left behind with personal phone numbers on & company accounts / invoices etc. It was only later I realised that they have relocated & are still going strong.
I know how difficult relocating a company like this is as we have recently done the same but someone needs a kick up the backside for some of the sensitive material left behind.

Anyway not much history available other than it was founded in 1949 & relocated in 2015 (which ties in nicely with all the calendars still open on July 15)
There is a lot of small junk left and a few small machines but all the big stuff has gone leaving cavernous pits around the place. It still made a relaxed explore with my lad for a few hours though.

Shame most things have been trashed including the stained glass in the reception building

Doesn't look too have decayed too bad since I went which is nice to see. I'm surprised it doesn't get more in the way of visitors really considering how close it is to other places.

That big pit is scary deep, I'd love to know what was once installed there.

Fascinating place to look around - not jealous at all..

I think the pit will be from where a large press once stood?

Nice mate.actually surprised too see this still there really. And one I would go too if near.

A nice set of pictures. IMG5080 the hammer is missing. IMG5184 Nice Grundig. And a nice opening shot.

Thanks, looks like our tool rack at work, can never find a thing lol.
There was another old radio / turntable in there too but that grundig almost looked like it would still work!
