1. The History
Not a massive amount of history on this place. Located on Penistone Road, Sheffield, this old industrial building, and those in close proximity used to be home to North British Steel Works. Over the years they have been split up into a number of smaller units. One occupier in recent times has been Namsbury Engineering, a Steel fabricator and general engineer. Incorporated in 1966, creditors put the company into liquidation in May 2013 and the company dissolved six years later in October 2019. Another has been Eurofab, a specialist steel fabrication company that provided fabrication, constructing and erecting services. They appear to have recently relocated elsewhere in Sheffield.

2. The Explore
Nothing particularly exciting but after a period of lockdown, any explore was exciting. It was explored in two parts. Firstly, the smaller Eurofab, then the larger ex-Namsbury building. Both are pretty derpy. I was far from alone in the second place as two Sheffield graff artists were plying their trade, plus a random bloke appeared out of the equally abandoned student flat bloke that adjoins the two building (which I took as my call to not explore in there. So OK for an hour or so but far from the legendary George Barnsley’s that sit round the corner to these places.

3. The Pictures

Odd question. When visiting here, Barnsleys and a few others nearby last year I noticed there seems to be this tagging sort of thing where lightbulbs in the building are spray painted colours. Seemed a bit unusual, but hey, whatever people like to do with their paint.
Is it a Sheffield thing? any ideas?

Nice report Hughie. Reckon it could have been a waste forwarding site as towards the back the stuff looked to be in palletised bales.
