Default Former Railway Station / Printing Works - August 2020

This is quite an interesting find. I have gone past this place a couple of times within the last few years or so, and I never really thought to stop off and have a look at it. Recently, I spotted a potential way in round the back of the new build properties in front of it a week before having a proper look at it. I had other things to visit that day, sadly no derp finds were successful, including a house which had been abandoned since the 1960s next to a more recently abandoned house, still tightly sealed up.

So fast forward to the next week, nice and early in the morning. I stopped off and went round to the side of the building, through a little door leading to what I assumed would be out buildings. Sure enough, there is an open door entry inside the building itself, better still, it retains uncleared.

I'm not sure if this place has been documented in the past, it's deffo had a few visitors in it's time, but has remained fairly undamaged. I believe this building has been abandoned since the mid 2000s, and was likely converted into a printing works in the 1960s / 1970s, as the bathroom remains intact and dates from the 1950s.

What used to be a residential building was converted into a printing wokshop. You can make out some of the features of what it used to be such as bedrooms, kitchen and living room. Could be renovated.

About us
DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings. Our military, industrial and historical heritage is fast disappearing under the pressure of regeneration, the need for new housing, and often through simple neglect; Our aim is to document these places before they disappear entirely.
