Hey all,

After a fairly poor, rained off day of Non-exploring, I stumbled on this place near to the old Barrowclift Spinnings company. Had a scout around with the wife, and found a way. Anyway, we made our way in, and saw probably 80% of the site. Must go back, as it is a cool place, with some nice kit in place, with what looks like the glass manufacturing shop up the far end, that we didn't see.

From what I can gather, the original company was set up in 1815, and produced mainly large panes of glass. They are mow multi-national, and do UPVC patio dors and stuff, so have moved on to bigger units. Very cool building up the machine shop end, being original Victorian in style. The bit we saw was a later addition, maybe 20's as it looks a bit Art-deco.

Enjoy! :)

Hello to you all!

After a few explores,I've joined up here. You lot seem relaxed, and easy going! My husband, Virusman spends all his time here, and goes out on explores with diluted all the time now:cry: Since he got me pregnant, I'm only going on nice easy explores. No squeezing my tummy through holes now!!!

Anyway, I had a rare chance(!) to go with Virusman today to the jewelry quarter and see an old glass factory. Here are my photo's..............
