Annesley Colliery

I decided to take a look at Annesley Colliery. I did a bit of research and discovered it was due to have a load of houses built on it.



Arriving at 08:45 there was a big digger at work, with a couple of other plant machines active. Bugger. Looks like I left that too late.



There are still a couple of buildings standing, plus the pit head. If you want to explore there, I'd suggest going soon, and early.

I'm glad to see the Headstocks are still there, looks like a lot more stuff has been demolished since i last drove past it. Is the former canteen building (the round edged building with the clock on it) still there? i liked that part. The last time i went up there, there were loads if kids jumping from one part of the roof to another part. :icon_evil and banging the doors etc.
