Went & explored the house that's just up from Bridon Wire Works in Ambergate, & thought you lot would be interested in seeing some photos! It's pretty run down, and you can't get into most rooms because of the above floors having collapsed into the ground floor rooms, plus half of the house is bricked off from outside & inside, but you can still explore a good amount of the house :)

here's some photos!

I always think houses are kinda sad to look round, thinking that that was somebodys home once, and all the memories it must hold.

Even though it's totally f***ed, it still has a certain charm about it, particularly like the shot of the old mangle. :)

Maniac.

i think that's why i found it all the more intriguing! in some room's there still pieces of wallpaper left, and the odd bit of fraying carpet. it's just a shame you can't explore more of the house!

Hmm Ambergate, thats near Belper which is near Derby. I might have to check it out....

Great shots Cellardoor, my initial thoughts were how it resembled a bomb damaged French town during the second world war (watch 'Saving Private Ryan' and you'll understand). Looks like a good place if somewhat unstable for my liking.

Oh, I love that courtyard...it's an absolute delight! And that mangle is brilliant. They must be pretty rare now, I would've thought. Good stuff! :)

Went in here around 5-6 years ago & it was pretty bad then...now it looks even more dodgy! Well done for going in!:eek: The courtyard hasn't changed a bit!

Well done for getting in, do you know whats going to happen to it? It looks like it waiting for a Beedingwood to me!

i spoke to a couple who live just up from the house, & they said that's it's just being left. apparantly the guy who owns it has given up on it, but won't knock it down. so who knows!

thanks! it's quite tricky to get in, so if you want any details pm me.

ambergates a favorite of mine, the big house has pretty much collapsed in on itself now and the buildings have been well boarded, was a good spot
