Myself, Kaputnik, The_Revolution and Ashless recently paid a visit to the former Bridon Wire Works. The history of the place has been well covered by previous reports, so I'll just drop into the pictures.

The sunken winding wheels in recessed holes in the floor, plus lots of ferns.

The House on the Hill

This place is quite trashed. The basement is sound, but just about everything else is rotten and ready to fall down.

Finally, Ashless gets busy with the tealights again

We were flagging at the end of this visit, as we pulled it in after an all night explore else where, but worth seeing!

Nice work guys, that looks like quite an interesting old place, that electrical room looks particularly good stuff:)

Always enjoy seeing photos of this site. The house is so quirky...I'm amazed that it hasn't been done up for sale! Excellent pics guys. :)

You'd struggle to do that house up now. I think you'd have to pretty much take the whole place down and rebuild it!

it amazed me how big the really cool cellar was, three rooms linked by a long curved tunnel like corridor, many numbered compartments in the rooms, obviously big wine fans. love 'Mr Tealight' Ashless's idea, very spookily, he had just the exact no. of them to put in each space in that room.

oooooooooooooooooooooooooh I love these pics. The labs are great aren't they? Loved seeing all those tubes, bottles, and all the paperwork still left in there. Could have spent hours just in the lab area. And really, really love that house. Excellent pics guys, I really need to go back here, and especially see the house. We missed it last time we went.

Cheers,

:) Sal

we trudged for what seemed like miles up into the woods looking for that house, then gave up and went to the wireworks, and all of a sudden Crashmatt spotted it almost by accident!

Top stuff guys, dont know where you found the energy from though after an all nighter:)
