Had to drop the 'rents off at a wedding reception recently, didn't fancy coming home to go back again as it was an hour's journey.

This site is close to the A1, near a Little Chef. Which on the drive past I thought was another explore waiting until I saw cars in the car park and realised it was still open, looked like a proper dive

Bit of info on the company taken from their website, which was obviously setup a pretty long time ago, as I think there'd be alot of compnays wanting the engineeringservices.co.uk website address.

Engineering Services has over forty years of experience of industrial plastic pipework systems. The company is highly focused and can provide a full-line service from design, supply, fabrication and installationto pressure testing and commissioning. For polyethylene pipe and fittings we also offer our own butt-fusion welding machines which are approved to the latest industry specifications. This equipment is also available for sale or hire, together with electrofusion controllers and ancillary tools. We are also industry leaders in the production of smooth bore, long radius bends in high density polyethylene with the capability of producing bends up to 1200mm in diameter. The company operates internationally in many industrial markets such as mining, civil engineering, process and chemical plant, water, sewage and gas projects. These activities are supported by a qualified and experienced team of pipework engineers and polymer specialists. Engineering Services has built a formidable reputation for service and quality which, combined with its long experience is able to offer a truly unique service to industry.

Our extensive stocks of plastic pipe, fittings and ancillary items enable the company to respond quickly to any situation. Stocking materials from 20mm through to 1200mm in diameter. Our fabrication workshops are equipped to deal with the most unusual of requests and allow us to not only produce our own pipework to suit clients needs but also produce associated specials such as pipework bridges and support structures. Working along with partner companies we also undertake minor civil works along with telemetry control of equipment and valves. Site Installation is undertaken by our own fully trained personnel, who are well versed in the safe operation of plant and equipment and between them offer hundreds of years of experience in plastic pipework installation. Testing and commissioning can be undertaken by our qualified test and chlorination teams who are well equipped with the latest data logging equipment to ensure precise/accurate recording. The company is well able to manage projects from start to finish, utilizing the latest communication links and computer aided design packages to transform conceptual ideas to proposed working drawings and ultimately finished products.

Here's the site link, Engineering Services

This was the second place I went to, I did see it earlier in the day but it's a bit secluded and as I stopped, I saw a car parked up the side road with people in the back, left them to it and went back later on :)

The first thing that drew me to the site was the house that basically backed straight onto the site, only on approach did I realise there was something industrial there aswell

The house was pretty much intact, although no furniture or anything and it looked like someone had been in to get to wiring as some floor boards were up showing wiring and a radiator had been taken off the wall ready to take out. There was a key ring with a picture of the MD whose pic is on the website, so assume it was his house.

The office part of the factory/warehouse was empty of anything of interest really, probably took everythng when the company relocated. There's some damage maybe from chavs, but likely from pikey's when stripping stuff from the place. There wasn't much left in the production part either and it wasn't very big, so I can see why they relocated.

Not sure when they reloctaed, did see a calender in the offices dated 2001, but there was some papers in what looked like a garge that was attached the to warehouse, one being a letter from Sky dated 2005.

Enough babble, on with the pics

Rather worrying in the house, not sure why someone would put it there but no evidence of blood or anything nearby.

View of the factory from the house, as you can see the house literally does back onto the factory.

From work on the A1, it looks like the site is going to go, maybe they had an incentive to go due to that ;) Not a bad place really and pretty out of the way, explains why the house still has many windows intact.

Rest of my pics are HERE

What a strange place! It may be out the way but it still has rabbits!!

Nice one 85, lots of odd bits and bobs around there looks like a cool place to spend a few hours:)

Cheers, it would be a good place to spend a few hours. My trouble is I go to alot of places on my own and hearing noises makes me a bit paranoid. I usually take my time looking round first then take pics on my way out, but by then i'm usually rushing to get out

As for the sign on the door, that made me think quite a bit after. No real reason for it and the outline of the body seemed strange. Makes me think the 2 are connected, like the site was used to film something

I wonder if that 'Stylax Degreasing Fluid' will do anything for my hair apart from make it fall out?

Head and Shoulders is too expensive (even at my Uncle's shop prices).

Good find there, 85 :)
