I don't tend to do stuff thats been done before unless i'm in the area or it offers a certain appeal. The Nottingham GNR Warehouse has been reported on extensively in the past however I felt rude to ignore its imposing form on the edge of Nottingham city centre so naturally we felt it deserved a look.

Nottingham Great Northern Railway Station and Goods Warehouse was designed by Nottingham architect TC Hine, and features a (then) innovative roof design to allow maximum storage space. The station closed to passengers in 1944, most likely due to the close proximity to Nottingham Midland Station. The goods warehouse was used for Railway purposes until 1988, and was used by small businesses such as a furniture manufacture after that.

In 1998 the building suffered a major fire - causing much of the damage seen today. Several years ago two bodies were found inside the warehouse.

I love that sad, old till, all the old monetary system too. That's an excellent find mate. Keep wanting to have a look at this, drive past it so many times, but never stopped to have a look.

Excellent pics, i love this building.

Cheers,

:) Sal
