Default South Crofty Tin Mine, Cornwall - Robinsons Shaft - Nov 2008

Last month Wots and Myself were in cornwall and having heard redevelopment work was due to start on the Robinsons site soon we decided we would pay another visit.

Anyone wanting to see this site before redevelopment should move soon.

Steam Winder, Set up as a reserve to the main electric winder, It's pretty much the best preserved derelict steam winder I've seen in the UK.

I was just wondering that. It's superb and would be a great pity if it was just scrapped. Cool photos of the main winder too. :)

    Oh - my - god!

It's all there. A big old electric motor too. Man I wish I didn't live so far away! I'm speechless...

I've had a look at the artists impressions and they seem to show both main winding houses in situ so they will possibly stay where they are. Although winders are not mentioned specifically...

The website for the redevelopment is here: http://www.theheartlandsproject.org.uk

DerelictPlaces is a forum for people with an interest in the history and documentation of disused, derelict and abandoned buildings to come together and share their experiences, photography and historical findings.
