This was an Aggregates Quarry, Breaking Facility, Storage silos Loading Jetty.

The Gabbro stone was mostly used for road building.

I used to deliver bitumen into here for the tarmac plant...doesnt look much different to how it did when it was a working quarry!
9 times out of 10 we had to get towed up that hill to get out..ball ache of a place!

Judging by this photo there wasn't just rock crushing going on in the control room, the magazines tell a different story

Some classic readers wives if I'm not mistaken...and they said I'd go blind. Must have got really boring sat in there twiddling your thumbs, oh look a magazine, I know...noooooooo!!!! don't even go there

That control room actually had an extensive collection of vintage smut. Mostly from the 90's there was a pretty grim mail order bride mag too.

Mail order brides... how they get them through the letterbox?

That 1st pic is great :) looks like a right wet day when you visited. So ships would come in and load up

Looks pretty cool that, Quarrys always make for a decent explore.

Paul..yes you are right..the ships would be loaded with stone on the jetty. Its a very wild and wolly place and you really get the sense that you are standing on the edge of the earth!!!

There was a bit of a scandel at the plant few years ago which resulted in a mysterious fire that burnt the controlroom down!
