Just before setting off on holiday, I met up with Jaff_Fox, Havoc and Valan for a days exploring in the outskirts of Manchester.

The 3 sites we had targeted were Knoll spinning mill, Fletchers paper mill and Buxton College. We started with Knoll mill which hasn't had a great deal of coverage on the forums, generally because its closeby to the bigger, better, picturesque Fletchers - but I enjoyed this place much more than I had originally thought i would.

Despite having left home with no sign of snow, it was still quite thick when we arrived in Oldham.

The mill only closed in the last few years, and still looked quite fresh in places. It was joined to a funeral directors that operated from the front of the building and obviously closed around the same time as the main part.

Let the icy pictures do the rest of the talking!

Mr. B!

Wow -great things to be seen here! What a lovely location too
Did ya take a ride down that shute?

Thanks for sharing,

Looks like there's more to this place than I thought – have stood outside looking at it, but wasn't sure if there was anything worthwhile left inside. :)

I think everyone that's visited Knoll Spinning has been down that chute at least once. I know I have. :p I always wonder why people don't make a day of this place and Fletcher's given their close proximity, good to see you did though.

M :)

Very responsible hard hat use Jaff.
Glad you posted this up mr. B, it looks good. In photo no.2 is that a body fridge for the funeral directors?
