A few shots taken at Crail on a trip north when I was a kid. Photos courtesy of my Dad.
The resolution isn't great, as the shots have been scanned from 35mm originals which have welded themselves into an album with shiny pages. I've deliberately not written up any history about Crail as it has already been done on this forum, but I thought some shots from twenty years ago might be interesting.

I wonder if the sloping worksurface in the middle of the photo once had a plan of the airfield on it?

Also on the same trip were a couple of other visits, one shot of Winterseugh SLG near Annan (long since demolished):

Also of Tealing, in Tayside

Tealing was a strange place to visit, as there were a number of old chicken sheds on one of the runways which had been left to rot. I can still smell them to this day, no word of a lie.

Good stuff, the images are quite good quality, considering what you say. The lettering on the side of the building looks to say 'VISITING AIRCRAFT'. I assume a visiting pilot would have to check in there upon landing.

Good call, I've been pondering that for more than 20 years.I always thought it said Siting Aircraft for some reason, which makes bugger all sense, but I think you are probably right

Its nice to dig out old pics like this. It's not much different to the way it is now!

Kudos to your explorer dad though.

Nice, thanks for sharing these :)

Good to see inside the Tower, when we visited it was well secured.
