Good to see the various different remains. Love those gun mounts, especially the second one. I presume it was re-utilized in WW2?

As far as I know it was used upto the first world war then used as film studios. :). If i find any more info il post.

DoB has this as an Emergency Coast Defence Battery

"Emergency coast battery: 2 x 6in. guns, one on each side of the harbour entrance. 2000/05/__ Coastal battery. Remains of some buildings relating to the battery visible at the old fort. The larger emplacements and their associated structures were removed immediately post-war. [information from 1976 aerial photographs]."

The fort itself wasn't used for this purpose as gun houses were built specifically.
