Went for an explore here today with Faz, who's also got his photos up. His are ultimately better than mine, but here's a few of mine that I rather like.
Raynham was opened in 1938-39, and closed in 1994.
It's a bloody big site - wish I'd taken a picnic

I would assume these are outdoor plugs...

Why, one asks, would you want to park right next to a boiler room?

great pictures -- derelict airfields are v spooky place -- all those memories of comings and goings and people not coming back..... plenty of atmosphere

you want to stay away from glory holes though....... you never know what's been in them

Thankyou Shucky!!
I think it's my best explore yet :)

Yes I would have to agree with that one! I have liked this site for at least 5 years but for one reason or another never really made it over there. Its certainly a good drive from Yarmouth but I would expect its well worth the extra effort! Very Happy you both got there!:)

Can't wait to see the shots you get, mate!!
I guess you won't be climbing up the inside of the water towers either huh?

Oh no no no no! I like to keep my Plates Of Meat firmly on Terra Firma Thank EE very Muchly! Did Faz venture up there?

Thankyou Klempner - that's very kind of you!
I guess it may be one of those things, you know, everyone elses' photos look better...?
Shuck, no, Faz didn't brave it, I think we both will next time though!!

Nice stuff Mimble.I agree - your pics are good!!! That second pic looks a bit odd to be a water tower though. Can any of the military bods confirm that it is?

:)
Godzilla, it's referred to as a water tower, but I think it's a boiler thingie. It's got a bit of machinery and some whacking great pipes like this:

I'm willing to be corrected, I'm only calling it what I've been told it is!!

They usually have some form of water tank at the top or will have done at some time. :)

Some interesting pictures I've had this on my to do list for awhile but heard it was a difficult explore ;)
