Location
currently, Hastings, but not forever :D
Firstly I must say thanks to Newage by pointing out a couple of locations too me without which i'd have ended up wandering around the fields and woods of the white cliffs, all very nice but not quite what i went over for!

First we went to Drop Redoubt on western heights, I understand that its open and you can wander round inside but alas today it was shut, so we walked round the outside for a bit.

We then went up to a site a freind knew about by the coastguard station near the castle but unfortunately couldn't prise open the metal trapdoor so continued on to St Maragrets at Cliffe to search for the Z Rocket deep level shelter, I thought it would be hard to find but a quick look at google earth an a stroll along the cliff top and low an behold we find the hole, if anyone is planning on going down there its worth avoiding it if its wet coz it was hard enough climbing out on dry clay, also, stay away from the hole you can see daylight through, its a straight drop to the beach.

From there we headed back up to the area around South Foreland Lighthouse and found several of the buildings there, what I assume is a magazine of some sort and another DLS which some little chavvie has decided it would be fun to set light too.

After South Foreland we headed back through Dover towards Folkestone, Stopping at Lydden Spout where again we wandered around until we found a very small hole in the ground leading to another series of chambers under a gun emplacement. Also containing a whole lot of very spooky looking spiders!

From there I headed home, but stopped at Toot Rock at Pett level on the way back to the 'stings and found a bit I've never seen before there!

And then I went home and had a sandwich. It was nice :D

NICE One Davey boy !!!!
Dover is an excellent explore, have been there 5 times now and haven't even scratched the surface !!! Keep up the good work !! PS Pett is a place high on my to do list too !!PPS Hope that sarnie was a veggie option !!!!:)

Good shots, especially of the Redoubt. All you chaps (Fluffy and Newage included) should have a gander at the Outworks bits of Fort Burgoyne behind the Castle. It is my intention to "do them" soon, so watch this space.
PS DaveyGTI - "No Sheep til Brookland" Nice - I take it you are "of the Marsh...." then

Lol I almost went to fort Burgoyne when I went over but simply didn't have enough time, I think several more trips over are in order as I want to go to Snowdown Colliery aswell which is over that way. Yeah I'm kinda from the marsh. well, I grew up on top of the cliff on the edge of it, just far enough away to have the right number of digits on hands and no webbing of the toes lol......and I'm sorry fluffy the sarnie wasn't veggie.....not unless 'cow' is now a vegetable but then I'm a savage so 'meh'!

Looks like you guys had a good day out :) the Z Rockets shelter is great looks like the hole of doom has gotten bigger:eek:

yeah its kinda scary lookin isn't it, i never realised how close it would be to where you slide down! still, it was great fun, i've been in a few pillboxes, bunkers etc over the years but never anything like that!

Hi Mate
