Visited with my wife mimble on a honeymoon explore, some of the paintings are in excellent nick, considering the kids in the area!!!. most of the blocks are just empty rooms but still good to poke around in..
and plenty of slamming shut doors on a windy day..

It was definitely an urbex honeymoon - we found a very cool wooden house on the way there, and did Sculthorpe on the way back. Was fab!!

The Airfield is still part of STANTA Army Training Ground,Yes helicopters go there and fly over my house on the way,day and night, same for RAF Watton, but its just the Runway they use.

Ahhhh SCULLY! This bought back a few memories. My missus had a great friend who used to own the pub in the village and used to serve all the pilots beer! As you can probably guess from the lovely pictures done by Fazwold and Mimble, this part of the site was used by the USAAF (48th Tactical Wing most recently, I believe flying Strike Eagles but someone might want to confirm this), hence the bowling alley and the Disney themed nursery - the USAAF have always treated their fliers much better than we treat ours.

The pics of the 'kindergarten' are awesome, but my favourite has to be the one of the Mountain Dew can left on the window sill. Is that how you found it? If so, did you stop for a moment to ponder who might have left it there? Highly likely a USAF serviceman/woman or one of their kids. What was their story? (I know, I know they were probably really thirsty and couldn't find a bin) What was going through the person's mind when that can was left there? For me this is part of what exploring is about, soaking up the atmosphere and letting your imagination go wild (while yer mate keeps an eye out for security :D) It's just a picture of an old pop can, but you captured it very nicely, especially with the sun shining in.
