I know it was a couple of years ago but here is some of the stuff that I saw in Gibraltar in 2007

After getting the cable car to the top of the rock and having a look at some WW2 buildings I took a walk along to O'haras Battery. On arrival the first thing that i noticed was a big ass sign saying to view the guns 24 hours notice is needed. mmm I thought good job I not the sort of person to stop and turn round and walk all the back just becuse a sign says no. As it happens I was not alone in getting to the gates so I sat down and had a bite to eat as there were no apes about. After a short ammount of time I alone and free to do what I had planned to do while eating my sandwitch, scale that rock grab that fence and hop over the wall. Ok so now i am in here is some info on the guns they are grey. So here it is.

As you can see the guns have an anti aircraft covers on them as it wouldnt do to have your gunners killed.

This is the first gun that you get to the second gun is in much better condition. there is a trollie to take the shells from the chute to the gun.

While the going was good I decided to get into the bowels of the guns so I nipped down the access ladder

On the first level below the gun there is the hydrolic tanks. On the main floor it gets more intresting. the floors and walls still have a good coat of paint on them probably due to it bein open to the public at some point.

I first thought that this was some sort of radio but I have been told that it is for finding out the range of the shells.

After wandering around gun two for awhile i took the tunnel back to gun one up the ladder and just as I was opening the ladder hatch with a large creak I could see people sitiing next to the gun having some lunch. I think they were Dutch as they all quicky stood up and started pointing at me and talking in some foreign tongue:mrgreen:

Welcome to the forums, Madrab:)

Very nice explore, and great to see so much intact there. I would love to find one of our coastal batteries as intact:mrgreen:
