This place has bugged me for a very long time...until now!:) day off work permitted me to go and have a look for a way in... after looking for ways in through out the rain... bearing in mind this is an old Quarry with rocks that would sure to rip you apart if you fell... no guesses what i did? i only fell like 8 feet... but i was in the area so i couldnt give a hoot! (no injures - ;))

for you flash link whores;) clicky

just that view of it sitting there always made me think... i want to stand there!

the cliff wall - walk off that top edge and your in trouble!

the moment i touched down onto the quarry floor... (well brambles! they are every where)
dscn5598b.jpg

been a very long wait but its been worth it!
dscn5599.jpg

door way to one of the shooting points... (there are 2 of these right beside each other with a room in between each other)
dscn5600.jpg

unfortunately the sea salt in the air and the constant battering by the weather has rusted the metal shutters thru totally on this one - as seen in the next next pictures
dscn5602.jpg

following on from the message above...:( but atleast its not been chaved!
dscn5605.jpg

the other side of the badly rusted windows...
dscn5604v.jpg

the room in between the too shooting points (did once have a roof - you can see it on the walls ) i do like there tree in the room
dscn5603a.jpg

the better shutters in the more covered area - also this one is very clean apart from the odd bit of rubble and dust...
dscn5606d.jpg

in the search Op building - the wooden doorway - note it hasnt rotted thru?! (one of 3 - highest one up) info coming from Badoosh and K.E.F - used to be on the look out for subs etc during the war time)
dscn5613i.jpg

made me chuckle... i found 2 golf balls inside the little building... there is a golf course about 500 yards away... bloody good shot if you asked me;):p
dscn5611q.jpg

rusting away old water pipe... - just come off the phone to Badoosh - he said that this mite not be a water pipe after all more than likely a cable wire for the mines... im sure when he manages to look over it him self he will be able to state what it is... :)
dscn5608.jpg

the outer wall showing signs of crumbling/rusting :(
dscn5614x.jpg

sneaky shot of Fort Bovisands... :)
dscn5609.jpg

2 Navy ships - i swear they was watching me as there was a police boat floating around with in 30 minutes of me being there

dscn5610.jpg

2nd of the search op buildings (too risky to go over due to live diving site and strong waves crashing around)
dscn5617.jpg

and the 3rd of the search buildings... this one unfortunately is the one my dad was given orders to take down with TNT due to being unsafe with kids and fellow urbexers climbing around - not saying he likes to blow up old buildings with a meaning... but it was the old owner of fort bovisands
dscn5618.jpg

and last but not least (save the best till last eh? :)) me after i survived the bramble hell! and the British weather!

Tut tut, where was our invite? Lol only kidding dude, hats off to ya for doing it solo. Rather you than me especially with this lovely weather that has decided to batter Plymouth. This is the Submarine Mining Station recently discussed in the PF Station thread. I'd say the pic that you think is a water pipe is actually cables for the old minefield or searchlights. Considering the battering it takes from the weather, it's actually in pretty good nick!

Top work Timmy & yes we will be up for joining you on the revisit. :)

lol paul it was lovely up there i even had time to take a picnic ;) but yes next time your more than welcome to join... it wasnt that bad when i got there but then the rain started to get me on my route back home... i did look a pleb 'cus i still had the climbing harness on as i rode home :p

Interesting read, I always get frustrated with bovisand as I spent so much time sat there 'off gassing' on diving weekends, and never bothered to actually explore the place! Gutted!

nice little report, this site looks interesting and worth a visit to see it all, cheers

tommo yes it is one of them "must do's"

but i can assure you getting down there wasnt easy one slip and youd be off the 70 foot drop and no one will know your there... (gps and a phone and a "im going here" to some one is advisable) - note to any one going solo :) bloody adrenalin junkies  but it was worth it:)

nice one TTW... :) how did YOU get down haha it took me a while to work it out but i soon found the easy root in! you right i could have stayed down there for hours (if it was bigger!) and just chilled out but the rain was coming that day and i thought better of it as my exit wasnt easy to get out of wet!

but great pictures... puts mine down (was using a older camera so fair play to me and you!)
