My first report on here, constructive criticism is welcome, I'm still trying to get the hang of lighting underground :)

Sarre Brigade Headquarters was dug in 1940/1941 within the remains of the surrounding chalk quarry. It was a sattelite brigade headquarters reporting to the battle headquarters at Canterbury. It was manned largely by Canadian troops at a time when the invasion of Britain seemed likely.

A rather tight entrance

My first deep shelter. It's quite a gymsnastic effort turning round in the entrance

Mine too, although the first time I visited was about three years ago now,
Subbrit still has it listed as demolished with access impossible,
So it was a bit of a turn up for the books when I managed to get inside :)
The entrance is rather spectacular although I can think of a few worse ;)

Did this one at the end of last summer with me ol' mate newage (or should that be me new mate Oldage !!) Anyway i must agree about the access,i did not like that one little bit !!And after three days of exploring some of the delights of Dover i have to say that this place had me worried-it dosen't feel like the safest place in the world does it ?!!!!Has anyone got any piccies of the insides of the Nissan Huts on site,we didn't get anywhere near 'em-what with all them big horses and that !!!
PS Did you see the Graffiti that suggests one of the leading lights of Sub Brit is an uphill gardner !!!:)

Indeed, it isn't the most stable of tunnels going,
A small set of tunnels in Ramsgate near Vale Square are the worse I've been down.
In Dover the South Foreland plotting rooms worried me, purely because access was via a 70 year old ladder, but because of the heavy concrete construction I doubt they'll go anywhere fast :)
I haven't got any pictures of the huts but if Seahorse gets his way I'll get some on the return visit :)
I'm not fussed on horses, wouldn't want to upset any of those.
Yep I did see the graffiti and it's not the only place I've seen it either

Pity I'm so far away. I can handle horses. It's great big cows I hate. Especially when they've just been let into a field so some bloody huge bull can give them a damn fine seeing to. As happened at Inverallochy BHQ last year. :D

Blimey Seahorse that must have been a tight squeeze !!Did they get in the main entrance or via the emergency ladder !!!!:mrgreen::mrgreen:
