at last i can upload [photobucket being a pain in the bum].

visited the other day with my 2 little 'uns for a stroll and ended up having to hide in an entrance to a bunker in a blast pen due to a storm. thankfully we made it back to the car without hypothermia and got to see the glider taking off and landing.

on with the pics. bear in mine it was raining in some of these photos.

I think picture 6 is the building that I thought was a battle HQ but probably isnt. Someone thinner than me could probably get down in there for a gander inside. That building without a roof has only fallen into disrepair in the last 12 months. For a site thats meant to be on care and maintenance there doesn't seem to be much of either going on!!

i saw your pics and thought your BHQ was the thing on top of the grassy bank, i didnt get the best pic as was on the runway with the buggy and it was way too muddy.

That certainly looks like a BHQ cupola but may be a bit small, it's hard to judge the scale in the picture.

Just following up on this with two things - firstly there is quite an interesting document at

http://www.councillors.tandridge.gov.uk/CmiswebPublic/Binary.ashx?Document=1628

which gives some history and also proposes what Tandridge district council propose to do with their bit of it. Its interesting to note that several bits of it are already listed, which is good news.

Also, on the BHQ, CptPies and others - here are some more shots of what Ant and me think might be it, this time from my collection taken about this time last year

Be interested to hear anyone's ideas.
