After reading about and visiting Dougla swood Radar station, the family, yep the family thought we could spent the day Bunker hunting. With St Cyrus bing a few mile up the road, after a spot of shopping in montrose and then at Steptoes junk yard ( great place) we eventually found it
Located on farm ground, I did ask to visit. The woman told me that the Transmitter/ Reciever building was all that remaind, the rest being demolished after the war, the main block was left for the farmer to raise chickens in.
This station had a huge range all the way down to berwick, which you can see on a clear day.
Another gentleman informed me of a nearby coastal village with winch gear and ariel ropeways for getting fish up the cliff. So that s next on my to do list.

Main Transmitter/Reciever block, pretty much all that remains of the station

Hmmm...very interesting. This must have been a WWII only site (its not on any of the post war CHL or CHEL records). There might be a bit more around and about this location , as suggested by this rchms record for it

A quick shufti at the aerial photos on this record and I think you can make out the bases for the mast points, which makes me think " I wonder what might be further down that hill?"

Well done on getting the family involved - you should now be able to spend many a happy weekend exploring :)
