A trip to Kent is not complete without a visit to a bunker.

ummmmmmm Bunkers

This one was built by the water board as a control center, we were not able to get inside but here are a few pictures from around the site.

First an over view of the site and then the bunkers main entrance. The site looks small but looking at the sub brit site there are stairs leading down from the entrance in to the bunker
itself, well below ground level.

Then a look at the emergency exit hatch round the back and then looking down the shaft, there is no ladder and it`s a long way down.

Then looking at the air vent shafts on the top of the bunker.

Get a ladder and get in there!

Inside at the bottom of the emergency exit is a hefty steel door which LOOKED very shut !! Now whether it was locked or not we'll probably never know !!!But rest assured i have now aquired a rather nice extendable ladder for future visits !!!!

I thought this might be its first outing!

Its an emergency exit which means it'll probably just open one way.

Perhaps your best bet is tracking down the owners and arranging a visit.

Im sure if you contacted subbrit theyd be happy to help :)

nice one fella, the bottom of the air shafts will also have doors but these can be opened from inside or out so may be worth going down them ;) i can post a pic of the swindon one if u like so u can see, as for the emergency exit door i thought it could be done from either side but looking back at my pics i got a feeling there was a lock on the inside
